| 摘要 | This Report documents the key findings, evaluations, conclusions and recommendations of the West Taiwan High Speed Rail Feasibility Study.The HSR Study was commissioned by the Institute of Transportation, Ministry of Communications, Republic of China to examine existing conditions in the West Taiwan Corridor fir all modes of transportation and evaluate the feasibility of implementing a high speed rail system. The analysis was initiated on January 16, 1989 and all documentation was completed in mid-March, 1990.A modern integrated transportation system in the Republic of China will contribute significantly to continued high-level economic growth, enhance political unity, better distribute industrial development, and better serve the transportation needs of the population. The study examined a wide range of transport factors with primary concentration on the feasibility and contribution of a state-of-the-art high speed rail system to meet transportation demands of the West Taiwan Corridor.（Appendix） |
