Title Development of fast screening system for highway, expressway and connector road bottleneck, a case study of north Taiwan transportation corridor
Dept Transportation Planning and Land Transport Division
Year 107
Month 11
Price 700
Summary Transportation system suffers from the significant demand variance between peak/off peak time. In particular, the huge amount of car flow during holidays, seasonal festivals and tourism often lead to transport bottlenecks and traffic jams.
In this study, we used new technology such as Big data, data mining and analysis to establish a traffic database and forecast model on connecting roadways, The results of the traffic forecast are published onto a traffic forecast and congestion information platform.
With the ability to know the present status and foresee the near future, people can flexibly adjust the departure time or change the tourist location. It can ease the peak congestion of the road system. This program focuses on:
1. Using deep learning method to improve the traffic forecast model of the previous program and enhance its accuracy.
2. The variables of traffic forecast model include holiday characteristics, weather conditions and traffic accidents. In addition, this program also takes parking lot full rate and mobile data rate saturation into consideration.
3. Complete the construction of the traffic forecast model for the northern Taiwan transportation corridors and the regional roads, including pre-trip forecast and 6-hour future forecast. The content is divided into daily traffic flow, velocity and travel time. The results of this project can be used as a reference for traffic management strategies by the Highway Bureau, the Directorate General of Highways, and the Taoyuan City Government.
4. The maintenance and improvement of the traffic forecasting and congestion information platform, including the improvement of the user interface and the management of the big data environment.
5. Establish the traffic database and design traffic dashboards for northern Taiwan transportation corridors and the regional roads. Through visual presentation, users can understand the forecast information more clearly.
