　　Tamshui Line will be the first commercialized Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in the Taiwan area. Prior to its commercial operation, this study conducts surveys of land use patterns, traffic characteristics, and modal splits in the surrounding areas along the route. The principle tasks cover data collection and surveys in many aspects, such as a land use survey, a screen line traffic survey, an intersection turning traffic survey, and a passenger mode choice survey.

　　Some significant results found in this study are highlighted and will be used to clarify the impacts of an MRT line on traffic and land use patterns after a comparative post-study is done later.
