| Summary | This project employed probe cars by manual recording, along with the use of global positioning system (GPS), to obtain travel time and travel speed data of all national highways (freeway), provincial highways, county highways, and also the uncoded connectors of freeway interchanges. The time when each highway was surveyed was set by its traffic and activity characteristics. Because the highway network in Taiwan has been changed so much since 1994, this project made the reconfirmation of each highway to correct the data of paths, geographical characteristics, and intersections. The results were input into the Taiwan Area Geographic Information Database to make some sketches for travel speed classification, and contours of equal travel time, and the speed comparison classification of the survey data between the year 1998 and 1994. |
