| Summary | This study employs sampling and statistical techniques to investigate the usage of ÒTaipei Dynamic Bus Information Demonstration System*. Both bus riders and operators are interviewed. The questionnaire is designed to find out how this system is functioning and what other functions are needed. The survey results reveal that only 5% of bus riders of Tun-Hua Line and 8% of Hsin-Yi Line are not satisfied with the performance of current system. On the average, 90% of the interviewees agree that the system is useful and that it increases their willingness to take the bus. According to the survey findings, it is recommended that the current system should be integrated with traffic signal control to perform bus preemption control. And this system can also be coordinated with the operator’s Management Information System for the applications of bus scheduling and personnel management in the future. |
