Summary

This project is based on the directive from the 3715th meeting of the Executive Yuan on August 20, 2020, where the Premier instructed: "To further improve related infrastructure, we hope that cyclists can provide suggestions for improvements on various sections. Please assist in establishing a cycling enthusiasts' opinion mailbox, and integrate the opinions." The Secretary-General of the Executive Yuan subsequently resolved that the Ministry of Transportation should take on the responsibility of the main department for the National Bicycle Single Portal. The main design principles for the website include I, C, T: I for Information Entry Linkage (including horizontal links to other ministries and vertical links to county and city governments), C for the Transparency of Information (integration and overlay of information from relevant ministries), and T for the Exchange and Interaction of Information (including the back-end platform processing system for cyclist login, message reception, and distribution). Therefore, the Ministry of Transportation requested this institute to carry out the construction of the "National Bicycle Single Portal" (https://taiwanbike.tw/) based on the above principles.

To advance these projects, we have planned to enhance the website's interface and functionality based on feedback collected from cyclists. The system will be integrated with the foundational data of the Bike Way Integration Application Network established by the Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of the Interior (MOI). Additionally, we will continually improve the bikeway data provided by relevant authorities and expand the cycling route application database and associated functions. This will enable us to create and upload diverse route data to the Taiwan Cycling Tourist Website. Simultaneously, we will work to enhance the stability and user-friendliness of the Taiwan Cycling Route APP. Online and physical events will be organized through this APP.
