Summary

There are competitive, cooperative and complementary relationships between the construction programs of all types of transportation systems. To have a better handle on transportation system development, it is necessary to establish an overall assessment model to improve the efficiency of resource allocation. In conjunction with the national policy and development direction in recent years, the Institute of Transportation, MOTC, and the overall transportation development blueprint-related planning operations have been undertaken. The “transportation planning and support system” and integrated databases have been set up to assist the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) in conducting plans for improving the overall traffic system in four regions: northern, central, southern, and eastern regions and strengthening the relevance between long and middle distance traffic plans and superior policies as well as a stable layout. To continue collecting and updating the basic data of the system, and maintaining the normal operation of the database and system, technical services for the maintenance of the Transportation Planning Support System were carried out in 2022. This supports our institute in implementing overall transportation development planning and major transportation construction project evaluation operations. Additionally, in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation's space-time information cloud implementation of the Smart Land Plan (NGIS2020), we have improved cooperation mechanisms with the Transportation Network Geographic Information Warehouse System (GIS-T). This involves integrating and sharing transportation-related resources through feedback mechanisms for producing thematic maps. The work items completed this year included: 1. Maintaining and updating the existing transportation planning integrated database. 2. Added the query function of the results of the transportation demand model in the North Taiwan area and the South Taiwan area, and provides customized data query on the number of passenger trips/vehicle trips and the purpose of each trip in each region. 3. Completed the optimization and adjustment of the query function of the departure and arrival of trips, and added the query of the total number of trips from and to the Taiwan High Speed Rail within the region and outside the trip; the departure and arrival of national highways increased the origin and arrival information of each vehicle type. 4. Add website CDN services and static web pages, complete web page vulnerability scanning and enhancement, strengthen cookie security settings, and improve security intensity. 5. The results of this Program have been disseminated and offered as a reference to be used for the Agencies related to transportation planning of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and the affiliated Railways and Highway Administration Agencies, and academic units.
