      In recent years, our Government has made great efforts in promoting railway system related projects, and has planned light rail transits in various metropolitan areas. In order to ensure that the future system can provide transportation services that meet the expected service quality under the most cost-effective conditions, the systematic methodologies and tools to analyze rail capacity are required. Thus, the Institute of Transportation has been conducting related researches since 2019, and compiled the results of into "Rail Capacity Manual in Taiwan - Light Rail Transits (A and B-Type Right-of-Ways)". This Chapter is the fourth Chapter of the Manual. It introduces the methodologies of railway capacity analysis and the usages of railway capacity analysis program aiming at the light rail transit, and explains its application methods with several case examples.
       The Institute of Transportation will continue the efforts on the research works related to railway capacity, to enrich the Railway Capacity Manual in Taiwan to be more complete, and provide references for relevant units.
