| Summary | Nowadays, many countries promote Mobility as a Service (MaaS). This concept is based on the integration of multiple public transportation systems and shared transport services with communication technology, facilitated by monthly transport passes at reduced rates and convenient mobile app-based services to meet the transportation needs of commuters to and from work and school. Taking Kaohsiung City as a research and demonstration area, this project’s main tasks include the planning and construction of the MaaS application service platform, the planning and construction of the website and mobile application services, the development of a fare plan strategy, the integration of the services of various transport operators, electric ticket usage planning, promotion of MaaS services, user needs analysis, and big data database construction. The integrated transportation modes in this project includes Kaohsiung MRT, urban bus, light rail, ferries, shared bicycles and taxis. The trial operation has been promoted since 28 September 2018. The service provides four monthly ticketing plans based on the needs of commuters and students. Besides, this project completes the effectiveness evaluation and recommendations as a reference for the subsequent expansion and promotion of MaaS. |
