| Summary | The purpose of this study is to propose integration strategies for the development of an integrated track transportation system in the western corridor of Taiwan so as to promote service capability and operation efficiency of the in-development High Speed Rail (HSR) and metropolitan Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) systems, and the existing conventional railway system (TRA) as a whole. This study identified the role of each transportation system and then investigated the network, operation pattern, ticketing and fare adjustment, user information and the type of organization of HSR, TRA, and MRT for the needs of suggesting integration strategies. The integration strategies with respect to network, operation, and organization among the three modes were identified accordingly. Based on those proposed strategies, this study further proposed the implementation schemes for the reference of the government agencies. |
