| Summary | Complex competitive and cooperative relationships exist within different transportation systems. In order to improve the efficiency of government’s investment and make better use of budget, it is necessary to not only construct a model to evaluate and assess future transportation plans, but also to confirm the direction of future development. In 2009, the IOT completed the “Taiwan Transportation Decision Support System”, which supports the assessment and analysis of transportation plans, and accumulates data, experience and knowledge for the benefit of better reviewing of transportation planning, project review and medium-long-term development assessment. We continued to implement the “Medium and Long Term Planning Review and Decision Support System And Integrated Database Maintenance (2017)”. The project completed this year includes: 1. Updating the current transportation planning database and improving the database functions. 2. Upgrade the efficiency and information security of the present Taiwan Transportation Policy Decision Support System. 3. Analyze items to be added to or removed from the database and updating the standardization procedures of the database. 4. To meet the need for transport planning, policy decision making, and topical analysis, provide data compilation and analysis and administrative assistance. 5. Complete the observation of transportation market in Taiwan and environment trend analysis within 10 years after the inauguration of the Taiwan High Speed Rail (2007-2014).The results have been transferred as reference information to the railway network of the Railway Reconstruction Bureau and the IOT’s Railways and Highways Climate Change Adaptation Data Platform. |
