Summary Education is a crucial approach to enhancing the safety of driving behaviors. This project investigates driving errors in 14 high-risk driving scenarios identified in the previous project, using a deductive approach accompanied by focus group analysis and questionnaire survey. The analysis results identified high-risk perception behaviors as well as driving knowledge that is critical to motorcyclist safety, including the knowledge of right of way, correct driving behaviors, and defensive driving behaviors on roads and through intersections. The main driving scenarios designed in the developed game were roads with two or fewer lanes in one direction; two new routes were added, resulting in five routes in total. Defensive driving tasks were added in the game too. This project hosted a workshop to demonstrate the developed game for government and training agencies; the possibility of applying the game to the driver license official test was also discussed. This project conducted a questionnaire survey on young road users to investigate their understanding about driving safety knowledge; the content of the questionnaire consisted of the definition and function of traffic markers, markings, and signals, the rules of right-of-way and the proper driving behaviors. Ten must-learn driving safety topics were also identified. To investigate the effectiveness of the developed game, this project applied both gameand paper-based learning approaches to college students with a particular focus on those who did not have a valid license and those who had relatively little driving experience; the learning performances between different approaches were compared. Finally, suggestions for applying and advertising the developed simulation games were offered.
