| Summary | In order to analyze causes of road traffic accidents, researchers currently must exhaust lots of manpower and time to get related data case by case. In addition, different projects may repeat the same procedure for the same data. Therefore, this research was designed to improve the data-collecting environment by using a systematic method. A primary linkage logic was designed based on function demand analysis, the investigation of five related data bases, road traffic accident data, health insurance data, death causes data, car insurance data, driver/vehicle registration data, as well as valuable experiences from similar studies and systems. Based on the primary logic, an accident data tracing system could be established in order to obtain related data for the future studies, and for developing more suitable road safety improvement plans. Because the related data bases mentioned above belong to different government units, an operating procedure for obtaining the raw data from them is suggested in order to get data permanently and to mitigate non-technical problems. |
