| Summary | To evaluate the feasibility of the electric bus as a means of urban transportation is the purpose of this research. We extensively collect the information of the development and cost of the electric bus from computer network and the 13th International Electric Vehicle Symposium we attended. At the same time, we use the MADM (Multiple Attribute Decision Making) method to evaluate the style of electric bus that suits Taiwan. In the process of evaluation, our decision group consists of the users and the manufacturers of the electric bus, and the decision-makers related. As to the criteria's importance, we use the pairwise comparison method to get the relative importance of each criterion. With regard to the performance of each alternative under the consideration of each criterion, we ask the professional for the performance or relative level of each alternative. At last, we use the MADM method to outrank each alternative. The result shows that the Hybrid Electric Bus is the best electric bus style suitable for Taiwan. In the evaluation of route, we take Taipei and Hsinchu into consideration. In Taipei, we find that Bus No. 20 is the best route for electric bus. On the other hand, Bus No. 15-from the train station to Nan-Liau fishing port-is the best route for electric bus in Hsinchu. |
