Summary

  This report has studied the related problems for the deceleration marking defined in the Rules for Applying Highway Traffic Signs, Marking and Signals NO.159. This report has also tried to understand the possible benefits associated with this special kind of highway marking.

  The major contents of this study include:

  1. Surveying and analyzing the existing application conditions of deceleration markings.
  2. Understanding the possible effectiveness of applying deceleration marking in accident-prone locations.
  3. Evaluating the effectiveness of applying deceleration marking in all kinds of highway locations.

  Finally, according to all these efforts, this study has concluded some positive suggestions and recommendations. Some improvement suggestions for how to apply deceleration markings correctly have also been made in this report.

  These can be useful for related authorities while considering the applications of this special kind of highway markings.
