| Summary | It is the important research topic that how to reduce crash risk of young group. Although the concept that enforcement can reduce crashes is intuitively, the real result of regression will be positive because of the endogenity.Which means police would strengthen enforcement when summer vacation comes or serious crashes happen.The paper will utilize instrument variable control endogenity and estimate the real effect of enforcement on reducing traffic crashes involving young drivers. This paper use crashes and tickets data from 2011~2015, and take the fixed-effect to deal with jurisdiction specific effect. The results prove 100 more tickets can reduce about 7 crashes which involve young drivers and 12 young drivers involve in traffic crashes. |
