| Summary | This report documents the performance assessment of the transportation management program for 2012’s, 2011’s and 2009’s Lunar New Year. Contents include the analysis of (1) public transportation; (2) freeways and provincial highways; and (3) tourism, marine transportation and aviation transportation. The results show that the amount, capacity and percentage of public transportation all increased and the level of service of the freeways in the east of Taiwan became better. Several suggested traffic management strategies have been initiated, such as creating multi-stage advanced ticket booking to adjust traffic management, encouraging passengers to use public transportation, especially the public freeway service and Taiwan Railway Administration service in the east of Taiwan, and creating performance indexes to evaluate the performance of the usually congested segments of the freeways and expressways. |
