| Summary | Published in March 2003 IOT SERIAL No.92-19-687，90pp. The development of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in Taiwan has formally moved from pilot study and test/evaluation stage into deployment/implementation stage. However, there should be a good legislation institution to encourage the private firms investment on ITS activities to accelerate the ITS infrastructure construction projects and assure the sustainability of these projects. Besides, the legal issues of ITS development including fund resources, public-private cooperation mechanism, privacy, standardization and special technologies acquirements should also be reviewed to develop an effective and equal environment for implementing ITS services in future. This research analyzes the legislation framework and contents of “ITS developing law” based on the ITS development needs in Taiwan. Results of this research include ITS legislation issues, schedules and demands of “ITS developing law”. The scheme of “ITS developing law” is also identified to be the basis of contents of future “ITS developing law” |
