Summary | Published in March 2004 IOT SERIAL No.92-42-3242, 434 pp. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) emphasizes current and future development of ITS. With extensive empirical experiences in the development of ITS done by the Institute of Transportation (IOT), the pre-timed, traffic-actuated and traffic-responsive signal control logics have been published by the IOT in 2001. These outcomes have been incorporates to the developments of traffic signal software by MOTC. So it will be followed and applied by relative fields in Taiwan. Consequently, this study focuses emphasis on the logics of adaptive traffic control that have not yet been accomplished. Simulated experiments and evaluation were conducted in this study, and the outcomes can serve as a reference for the development adaptive traffic signal control. The major outcomes in this research include: Literature review Confirming the simulation frame of adaptive traffic signal control model System modeling analysis and programming Separating control groups between isolated intersection, arterial and network using techniques of the experiment designs and statistics for performance evaluation and Exploring related issues to be encountered in the future. |
