Summary	In line with the Institute of Transportation (IOT) Technology Research Projects 2015 and the key scientific and technological development policies which MOTC aims to promote, this project studied simultaneously the intellectual property rights (IPR) issues of the aforementioned projects and policies to provide suggestions for patent applications for our Institute and benefit discussion of IPR aspects of MOTC’s the key scientific and technological development policies. This project also handled patent licensing and technology transfer of IOT’s innovative research results to activate their effective application, improve the traffic services of the government, and upgrade technology in the transportation industry.       In view of promoting academic exchange and development, this project continued to maintain and update the database of the IOT’s Transportation Technology Knowledge Sharing Website to provide up-to-date technology documentation and patent information to users in government and industry. The outcomes of this research project are expected to greatly enhance the innovative development of the traffic technology industry in Taiwan.       Important research results of this project include: (1) assisted in obtaining a Taiwan patent-“Bridge Inspection Application of the Drone”; (2) authorized the local government to utilize the system of “Value-added Application and Demonstration of APTS Application System with Integrated Database”; (3) accomplished patent analysis and mapping of the traffic big data; (4) drifted the “Operation Directions for Research and Development Results Utilization of the Institute of Transportation, MOTC”; (5) held training courses of copyright and knowledge management; (6) provided advisory services of the intellectual property law issues for the MOTC and IOT. The administration achievement of promoting and applying intellectual property has been dramatically elevated by theseresearch results.
