Summary        In conjunction with the national policy and development direction in recent years, the Institute of Transportation, MOTC, and the overall transportation development blueprint-related planning operations have been undertaken. The “transportation planning and support system” and integrated databases have been set up to assist the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) in conducting plans for improving the overall traffic system in four regions: northern, central, southern, and eastern regions and strengthening the relevance between long- and middle-distance traffic plans and superior policies as well as a stable layout.
To continue collecting and updating the basic data of the system, and maintaining the normal operation of the database and system, technical services for the maintenance of the Transportation Planning Support System were carried out this year (in 2023) . This supports our institute in implementing overall transportation development planning and major transportation construction project evaluation operations. Additionally, in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation’s space-time information cloud implementation of the Smart Land Plan (NGIS2020), we have improved cooperation mechanisms with the Transportation Network Geographic Information Warehouse System (GIS-T). This involves integrating and sharing transportation-related resources through feedback mechanisms for producing thematic maps. The work items completed this year included:
  1. Maintain and update the existing integrated transportation planning database.
  2. Support the addition of the “Transportation Demand within Living Circles” query function in the toolbox.
  3.  Replace the underlying architecture of the map platform with the Ministry of the Interior’s TGOS service instead of the GIS Server, and integrate TGOS MAP API (Web) base maps, thematic maps, thematic maps, and statistical maps.
  4.  Adjust the map platform user interface and functionality optimization in coordination with the map platform adjustments.
  5.  Complete web vulnerability scanning reinforcement and strengthen cookie security settings
  6.  Complete subsequent year’s system functionality optimization design.
The results of this project have been promoted for use by transportation planning-related units of the Ministry of Transportation
and Communications and academic units.
