Summary | This study focuses on the review of techniques and operation experiences of low pollution bus, such as electric bus, hybrid-electric bus, CNG bus, methanol bus, and fuel-cell bus. It also addresses the issues like the use of low pollution bus in Taiwan, so that the foundation for future research and development can be established. The evaluation result shows that hybrid-electric bus, CNG bus, and electric bus are possible for use of short-term development. Based on the study result, it also draws the goals and strategies for short, medium and long-term development as well as related issues, which should be coped with. The case study suggests Tai-Chung metropolitan as the demonstration area with 3 electric bus routes: a civic center route, a sightseeing route, and an inter-city route. The conclusion reveals the frame and procedure of importing and operating the low pollution bus by "fish-bone" analysis, which includes the development priorities, timing, and the duties of related authorities. |
