Summary	This project is implemented in accordance with the traffic network data, which was updated in 2007. Based on road change information from different road maintenance departments and reliable map sources (such as topographic maps, basic photo maps, aerial photos, satellite images…, etc.), we continue to add and modify the traffic network. With the demand for the 「Institute of Transportation, MOTC」website service that supplies the route planning function, we added the digitization of the double-lined main trunk roads for the traffic network, especially in Keelung City, Hsinchu City, Chiayi City, Tainan City, in the hope to provide users with the most current status of the traffic network map information.   The major accomplishments for the project this year (Year 2008) are as follows: Traffic network database maintenance and updates Updated street number of the from node and to node of the road. Updated the information of other layers, including landmark features, bridges, tunnels, as well as city, town and village layers. Digitization of the double-lined main trunk roads for the traffic network, including the Hsinchu City, Keelung City, Chiayi City and Tainan City. Validated the attributes and the logic of the traffic network: (1) Validated the geometry of the traffic network. (2) Used the data logic to verify the attributes of the traffic network. Built a web site for electronic maps. Analyzed the content of domestic and foreign electronic maps. In the end, we had discussion and recommendations for the project plan of next year.   The latest “Institute of Transportation Traffic Road Network Digital Map” was published on September 2009. To satisfy each kind of different application need of the coordinates system, we provide the TWD97TM2 coordinates system, TWD97 latitude and longitude of coordinates system and TWD67TM2 coordinates system, and the user's manual was also provided in the product disc.
