| Summary | Published in June 2003 IOT SERIAL No.92-75-754，58pp. This Geographic Information System for Oceanographical Simulation Results at Harbors in Taiwan is one of the subsystems of GIS built by IHMT. The desired functions of the GIS are Numerical results search of tide, current and wave near the Taiwan five Harbors (Kee-lung Harbor, Tai-Chung Harbor, Kao-Hsiung Harbor, Haw-Lien Harbor and Su-Ao Harbor). And the details contained in this system include the important simulation results calculated by some numerical models . This year’s research effort has been focused on building up the Geographic information System developed by Mapinfo. The present system has collected historical simulation results at Tai-Chung and Haw-Lien Harbors. More work is needed to include data at more sites and to improve the system in future. The goal of the project is to integrate simulation results and geographic information system to provide criteria for decision-making officials and useful information for engineering design. |
