| Summary | Many recent investigation and reports reveal that using mobile phone while driving may seriously influence traffic safety. Therefore, a study to examine the use of mobile phone is necessary. In this study, four methods were used to collect possible driving influence data. They are driving reaction test using simulator, accident records, a mail survey of the person having accidents and a general public opinion survey. Through statistical analysis, it is found that phone calling during driving is one of the major factors to influence driving safety, and it is suggested that legislative action should be taken to protect public and individual safety. |
