| Summary | The social and medical technology has been improved recently, so that the average age of human has increasing simultaneously. Meanwhile, as the economic activity rapidly growing makes the travel frequency of elder drivers also has increasing gradually. Thus, the global aging issue has become an important issue, especially is relating with traffic accidents. Therefore, this study used the logistic regression model to obtain the significant factors, which was relating to the traffic accident for elder’s severity. From 2007 to 2009, the numbers of elderly death has increasing yearly. In 2009, the number of elder deaths had reached 27.7%. The driver’s accident database was gained from National Police Agency (NPA) in Taiwan from 2007 to 2010. This study used the logistic regression model for data analysis to explore the characteristics of elderly accident, and also interviewed with the elderly through questionnaires in order to obtain the travel behavior of the elderly. Then, this study convened a forum of experts, and proposed the improving strategies for the elderly. |
