Title | A Study on Pipeline Handling Charge in Ports |

Summary | Stevedoring of cargo through pipeline has been improved by mechanization and automation, which is expected to be able to decrease labor cost and increase operating efficiency. In contradiction to this expectation, however, port dockers have been asking pipeline handling charge for NT$15.8 per tonnage, for which is much higher than the amount of willing-to-pay in the cement industry. This issue is thoroughly examined in this study through which improvement alternatives are proposed in an attempt to setting reasonable handling charge and solving related problems. |
