Summary | Published in February 2005 In order to keep domestic practical traffic engineers in the central and local governments updating their professional knowledge and ability so as to analyze and overcome various kinds of road traffic problems, it is necessary to provide them with sufficient on-the-job training to achieve this purpose. This project and its relevant works is the third-year program of a five-year on-the-job traffic engineering training scheme, starting from January 1, 2002 through November 15, 2006. Major task items and research outcomes for the project include: (1) collection and reviewing of previous experiences of relevant Traffic Engineering Training Programs (2) planning of this-year traffic engineering training program and the presentation of modern traffic engineering technologies by using the world-wide website (http://www.trafficwin.com/) establishing in 2002 (3) planning and holding the "Traffic engineering sci-tech news and Training program exhibition", and invite local equipment suppliers in the traffic engineering field to join the event as exhibitioners to provide their advanced traffic engineering products (4) processing and editing of comments, suggestions of this-year TE training program collected from the trainees and trainers (5) processing and editing of comments, suggestions of accompanied exhibition collected from the visitors and exhibitioner and (6) provision of improvement opinions to future TE training programs, which are gathered from those invited scholars and experts, in order to enhance the performance and effects of the up-coming TE courses to the utmost. Besides, the establishment of a national traffic engineering training education framework combined with another professional transportation knowledge bank have been done, and all these work have been presented to the ministry for their further consideration and possible implementation. |
