| Summary | n order to provide a convenient tool to analyze highway capacity and level of service, IOT has developed ”Taiwan Highway Capacity Analisis Software 2008”, which is based on the “Taiwan Highway Capacity Manual 2001” and recent related local research papers. At present, the whole range of basic functions has been completely rebuilt as a Windows 98/ME/2000/XP application. In order to bring the software THCS2008 closer to perfection, IOT is now releasing a project to promote the THCS2008 software. IOT will publish a revised edition of “Taiwan Highway Capacity Manual 2010”, which will focus primarily on completing the software, revising and updating current software, updating THCS2008 to THCS2010, holding a user conference, and maintaining the software and website. After completing the project, IOT will provide a computer-aided tool for analyzing highway capacity and level of service for highway and road agencies. This will be a great help in devising tactics for road planning, design and operation.The user manual includes information about the procedures involved in analysis, operational methods, examples from the Highway Capacity Manual and localized examples. |
