| Summary | Published in March 2004 IOT SERIAL No. 93-17-3256, 296 pp. As a part of the Improvement Plan for the Road Traffic Order and Safety, proposed by the Executive Yuan, the main purpose of this project was to assist the local government, especially the township level government, to provide preliminary and practical training courses in traffic engineering. The procedure of this project was as follows. First, the training courses and speakers were decided based on the literature review and the results of the questionnaire survey. Next, the training courses were held respectively in Taipei, Taichung and Tainan in consecutive weeks during the seventieth of September to the first of October, 2003. The total number of persons attending the training courses was 340. Next, a homepage was constructed for the need of training courses and can be reached from the website (http://www.trafficwin.com). Except for the subsidiary use for training courses, this homepage provides a channel for discussion and E-learning for all the traffic engineers of the whole country. Finally, a Practical Handbook of Road Traffic Engineering was compiled as a reference for the road traffic engineers as well. |
