Summary | In this project, the main purpose is for analyzing and designing an integrated database system based on several different sites’ database systems that are related to the data of road traffic accidents. It is expected to help the road traffic researchers and decision-makers to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively if the integrated database system can be implemented in the future. Two major tasks of this project are as follows: (1)To find out a well-defined linkage model for integrating the data on different sites. By a series of tests, three models are studied in this project. They are deterministic model, probability model and mixed model, respectively. Four different sites’ databases are included, i.e., traffic accident file, health insurance file, vehicle insurance file and national death record file. (2)To design an integrated database. We first analyze all the four files and refer to the linkage study results in this project. Then we design an E-R model and some data flow diagrams of the integrated database. Finally, the topics about data security and personal data privacy are also briefly discussed. From the experiences of this project, we also provide suggestions for data collection and linkage operation procedure for future study. |
