| Summary | Gender Impact Assessment (GIA) is the core tool for implementing gender mainstreaming. It helps to estimate the different effects (positive, negative or neutral) of any policy or activity implemented in terms of gender equality. Integrating transportation concepts into the GIA is of great important in order to assess the medium and long- term projects effectively. Therefore, it is imperative that the GIA handbook be edited for project undertakers of MOTC Subordinate Agencies. This handbook starts with the introductions of gender mailstreaming trends and the GIA procedures. Reviewing the correlated issues of transportations about gender equality follow, and then, the GIA frameworks and processes of GIA with transportation concepts are proposed. Finally, this handbook screens and collects nine corresponding cases from previous projects of MOTC Subordinate Agencies, and demonstrates the assessing processes for each case step by step.
