| Summary | Ministry of Transportation and Communication (MOTC) carried out the “Biker Friendly Environment and Integrated Bikeway Network Implement Plan from 2015 through to 2018” in 2014 under the instruction of the Executive Yuan. The West Region recreational bikeway network and cycle tourism will be developed by building on the successful experience of “Demonstrated Plan of Bikeway Network in the Eastern Region” in order to create a “bicycle island”, where cycling will become an integral part of daily life. Through industry development, transportation, education, and cultural dimensions, the ultimate goal of the project is to achieve energy conservation and carbon reduction. |
