| Summary | This research mainly focuses on four types of kernel data of transportation network database, i.e., planned road network, existing road network, road traffic volume, and road travel speed. These four types of kernel data were defined by the transportation network database system of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. According to the planned schedule of the previous phase of this project, "kernel data standardization and formulation", three major accomplishments were achieved. They are: (1) investigation of current status in kernel data of transportation network, (2) study of the adoption of location referencing system in transportation area, (3) design of computer hardware and software for kernel database of transportation network. These accomplishments could be used as a reference for future development and data sharing mechanism within the transportation sector, and furthermore, for the enhancement of government operation efficiency and better service to the public. |
