| Summary | Published in February 2005 It has been more than 8 years since the release of the “Design Standards for the Breakwater” and “Design Standards for the Wharf “in 1996 and 1997. Due to the 921 earthquake and other research, although part of the standards were slightly modified in 1999 and 2002, the revision of the design standards is a necessity to cope with the trend of the practical design work and promote the port construction industry of Taiwan. The main items modified in this study are as follows: The “standard” and “standard explanation” are merged together in considering easy reading. The content of the “Wharf” and “Breakwater” are merged together and becomes a single copy, and the “Breakwater” is edited as chapter 7 of the merged copy. Chapter 4 – Concrete Members and Chapter 6 – Water Basin are newly added materials. The sequence of the original standards is adjusted accordingly. Parts of the contents in the original standards are modified as well. The unit adopted in the present design standard is modified to SI system. The Earthquake Resistance Design is modified in accordance with the building code. |
