Summary Diversified risks exist in the lifecycle of daily operations in transportation industry such as safety risks and financial risks. In order to reduce these risks and prevent the occurrence of catastrophes, the authorities are required to carefully assess relevant risks, identify all possible risk sources, and figure out corresponding strategies. Human factor has been concerned as the primary contributing factor to accident occurrence, and the prevention of human errors has become a critical issue for transportation safety management. By a comprehensive literature review, deep interviews with transportation operators and drivers, and extensive collections of relevant data, this project aims to achieve the following purposes: First, a risk analysis framework of the health examination and management for professional drivers will be built up. Second, principles and mechanisms of safety management for professional drivers will be proposed. Third, the relationships between professional drivers’ health conditions and their driving safety will be explored. Finally, this project will provide training courses for transportation safety management to help transportation operators improve their safety risk management.
