| Summary | Because of construction and maintenance of the road system, the periodical and nonsked road works have already become familiar events for all road users. Workers, machine tools and vehicles move continuously in the existing road or particular space during work time. The installation of the traffic control facilities influences the safety and convenience of workers, equipments, road users and residents. The “Installation Regulation for Road Traffic Signs, Markings, and Signals” and the “Traffic Engineering Handbook” include Code of practice traffic control at work zone in Taiwan. Comparing with other countries, however, the research on traffic control devices’ installation for work zone in Taiwan is limited. The research discusses the signs of work zone, the safety of the pedestrian, and the installation of traffic control devices. The goal of the research is to promote the safety concept of construction section and to increase the safety and efficiency of road users. |
