| Summary | Published in February 2003 IOT SERIAL No.92-1-4160，474 pp. The purpose of this study is to improve current bus preemption signal as well as bus dynamic information system in Taipei so as to enhance bus service quality and relieve urban traffic congestion. Thus, based on previous system development experience, this study has selected representative intersections for bus preemption model construction and deployed the appropriate signal controller for field-testing. In addition, a standard evaluation procedure has also been proposed to select suitable intersections for bus preemption model development. It has also been identified that the present system should be extended to provide sufficient dynamic information for real-time bus management, as well as bus operation status monitoring in its service route. Furthermore, an intelligent bus information stop evaluation model and a thorough system maintance plan have been developed to reduce the entire system operation and implementation cost. |
