| Summary | “Integrated and electronic systems are the trend of road management, they offer enough information to users and bring out the performance of each management system”, and they are in the “Success Factors for Road Management Systems” report of the World Bank East-Asia Transport Unit, from 2005. This project integrates the “Road Disaster Prevention and Management System”, “Road Maintenance and Patrol Management System” and “Road Inventory Database Management System”. The web-based management system integrates the Personal base management system and PDA to offer integrated service. By way of training, the management system will become popularized. The characteristics of the management system include: resource sharing, simplified operating, intact data collection, hierarchical supervision, authority sharing, single sign-on, and linkage across the systems. “Road Disaster Prevention and Management System” includes 11 function modules, and the users are involved in the “Directorate General of Highways”, “Taiwan Area National Freeway Bureau” and local governments. The management system offers web-based and PDA reporting, and several kinds of reports. “Road Maintenance and Patrol Management System” offers three kinds of data recording, including web-based, PC-based and PDA. “Road Inventory Database Management System” augments the web-based browsing function to provide greater utilization benefit. |
