Summary | The flow fields, mainly influenced by bathymetry as well as structures, around Taipei Harbor are quite complicated. For increasing the safety level of Taipei Harbor, to perform a numerical simulation and prediction of the flow fields around Taipei Harbor is necessary and important. Firstly, this project is referring to the report of Lin et al. (2004) and the numerical model developed by Hsu et al. (1999) is implemented to simulate the flow field around Taipei Harbor. The flow fields including tidal elevation and current speed and direction around Taipei Harbor are calculated and analyzed in this study again. The purposes of this project are to establish a prediction system of the previous data for increasing the safety of ship maneuvering and other management agencies of Taipei Harbor by way of the website and database techniques. Although this project takes Taipei Harbor as an example, the system model established in this project is suitable for other harbors in Taiwan. They can refer to the present system model and establish their flow field forecast systems for increasing the safety of the harbor areas in the future. |
