Summary | The demand for maritime and air transport is greatly influenced by development in overall economy. For a specific shipping agency or an airline, the demand for maritime/air transport is also an external environmental factor that affects its operations, which severely undermines its performance. In addition, national policies have a huge impact on maritime and air transport industries. Therefore, the top priorities for the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and other government departments are to formulate future development strategies for our maritime and air transport industries, actively integrate the Aerotropolis Project with the development in national airlines, and develop attractive maritime transport policies and harbor operations strategies.
In the Asia-Pacific Region where Taiwan is located, many countries have actively formulated their maritime and air transport policies to respond to the trend of economic globalization and regional integration, as well as the continued growth in global maritime and air transport markets in recent years. In addition to the construction of port facilities and airports, they have proactively enhanced the development of their maritime and air transport industries, increasing the competitiveness of these industries by proposing various incentives to attract international shipping companies and airlines. The main purpose of this study is to collect the maritime and air transport policies of the aforementioned countries or region, so as to understand the importance of various development strategies and plans by means of interviews with experts and surveys. Subsequently, statistical analysis is used to get the priorities of the plans that have been promoted in order. |
