| Summary | Providing accurate pre-trip information to bus riders is a major task for the government under its policy of encouraging advanced public transportation system development. Currently in Taiwan, bus riders can not get pertinent information through pre-trip information systems because of lacking integrated and real-time bus information. An advanced pre-trip bus traveler information decision support system is developed in this research since 2003. It has completed the following four items in the second phase: 1.The study has modified and extended the functions of decision support system developed in the first year 2.The study has proposed and tested the functions for landmarks and routes database maintenance 3.The study has constructed a pre-trip bus traveler information decision support system by using Taipei city and Hsinchu city as the demonstrating sites 4.The study has proposed a sustainable business model to help government agencies or bus operators in implementing the pre-trip bus traveler information decision support system. |
