| Summary | In Taiwan, several important central government authorities, such as the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Environmental Protection Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs, are working together to develop the electric bus industry. Currently, there are more than 200 E-buses operating. Besides, the Executive Yuan also announced that more than 10,000 electric buses will be produced in the next decade. Therefore, monitoring of the operational performance and availability of E-buses becomes an important issue. This project develops and proposes ideas for constructing an information platform to monitor the performance and availiility, analyzes the demand, and proposes the functions of it.
The main contents of the research include: reviewing the policy and development of E-buses in Taiwan, analyzing and comparing related information platforms, poposing a framwork for a shared platform. Such platform should integrate technologies of telematics, battery management system, and cloud servers. It not only monitors the performance and availability of E-buses, but also provides real operational data for subsidy verification. For the central government, the platform will play a role as a decision support system. |
