| Summary | Published in March 2005 In 2003, the related projects have developed the Intelligent Traffic Information Delivery System (ITIDS), which could improve the efficiency of data input, and provide the user interfaces associated with the Internet GIS. Besides, this system also provided the public to query the needed information through Internet browsing. Not only the real-time information, but also the shortest path advices for given O-D pairs can be shown to the user. All the information is provided to users with graphic interface and to the value-added service providers with XML format files. In the present study, we follow the previous concepts and improve the preciseness of the traffic information locating function. Another issue is how to get more information from other sources. Therefore we have distributed the ITIDS system to eleven counties/cities in Taiwan and help them to build their own traffic information announcing processes. Then we studied about the common mechanism for information delivering in the future. We have set up two different systems, one is through the Internet, the other is by wireless communications. Meanwhile, two different demo systems, the web-site service and digital audio broadcasting system, were developed and evaluated for further system deployment. |
