Summary	To improve dynamic traffic information collection and road network management, the government authority has invested in the construction of vehicle detectors in the past few years. However, foreign-made vehicle detectors are mostly expensive and do not match all the needs of Taiwan’s traffic environment. To solve the above problems, the IOT (Institute of Transportation, MOTC) has made efforts towards the technical research of vehicle detectors. After years of effort, the core technologies of image and microwave vehicle detectors have been successfully developed. To apply these technical breakthroughs, the IOT plans to transfer these technologies to the industrial enterprise to develop the domestic vehicle detector industry and international commercial possibilities.   To conform to the laws and management principles of IP (Intellectual Property) rights during the technology transfer process, the research items of this year’s project include: vehicle detector technology courses and related IP rights concepts, establishment of the knowledge management system for the vehicle detector technology breakthroughs, application of the patents of the vehicle detector technology breakthroughs, and scheme of the technology transfer for the vehicle detector technology breakthroughs.
