| Summary | The taxicab is an auxiliary mode between private and public transportation. It not only has the user-pay characteristic of public transportation but also has the private transportation characteristics of being convenient, rapid, comfortable, and door-to-door service. Ill management of the taxicab operation would lead to poor service quality to the public furthermore, it would cause security problems to both taxi drivers and users. This study explores the feasibility of employing advanced telecommunication technology for the development of a Taxicab Operational Security Management System. With such a system, we hope to prevent criminality from happening, and we also hope that the time for dealing with the criminality could be shortened. Finally, this study proposes a demonstration system schema. It is hoped that a demonstration project would be initiated in the near future for the evaluation of the system performance prior to the large-scale deployment of the system. |
