| Summary | In order to provide a convenient tool to analyze highway capacity and level of service, the Institute of Transportation (I.O.T.) developed the ”Taiwan Highway Capacity Analysis Software (Version 2006)", which was based on the “Taiwan Highway Capacity Manual 2001” and related local research papers in the past few years. At present, all kinds of basic functions have been completely rebuilt as a Windows 98/ME/2000/XP application. In order to perfect the software THCS (Version 2006), I.O.T initiated this project to upgrade the software THCS (Version 2006). This project will take two years to accomplish the advancement of personnel use and the improvement of software. To "advance personnel use", we hope to popularize the software to those who are relevant to traffic planning, such as consultants, government authorities and academic researchers. In addition, the opinions commented after their use will feedback into the revision of the software THCS (Version 2006). In the aspect of “software improvement”, the purposes include enhancing interface and layout, searching and collecting the local sample problems, English-Chinese interface transferring, incorporating the HTSS module, upgrading the software to version 2008 and promoting software internationalization. We expect that with the execution of the plan, THCS will become more perfect after its revision. |
