Summary | The transportation projects in various subsystems compete for government funding. To invest effectively under limited resources, government needs a decision support system for project reviewing. Therefore, the objective of this project is to develop a decision-support system that could fulfill the following functions: (1) Provide the data for decision making with an integrated database (2) Show the transportation master plans and relative data with building a graphical demonstration system (3) Support comprehensive transportation planning processes with demand models and (4) Supply the technical analyses to the mid-to-long-term transportation development program reviewing. This report documents the tasks accomplished in the second year of this three-year project. They include as follows. Built six sub-databases of total sub-databases. Another three sub-databases including project management sub-database, consultant sub-database and resources allocation sub-database will be built in the third year. Built the graphical display system for demonstrating the transportation master plans and relative data. Developed a platform for supporting evaluation of transportation development alternatives by sustainable indicators. These indicators can be considered based on the results of the “Study on National Sustainable Development of the Inter-city Transportation Demand Model”, the transportation geographic information system, and indicators standardized operation. Established a support system for reviewing and allocating budgets on mid-to-long-term transportation projects. This system includes a module for reviewing projects of sub transportation systems, a module for reviewing specific projects and a module of annual budget preparation. In this year, the study has built up the preliminary functions and the module of annual budget preparation. |
