Summary | Reducing energy consumption and Greenhouse effect is an important issue for our country. Educating drivers to learn correct driving behavior is a feasible way to achieve this objective. Eco-driving is proved to save up to 7% energy consumption in Europe. The research is to observe driving behavior of professional dual-axle passenger driver by electric recorder installed on the bus. After identifying risky and unstable behavior, the countermeasure to these drivers is proposed to achieve the goal of energy conservation and safe driving. It can also be added in the training course in driving school. The research team cooperated with Taoyuan bus company to collect the highway bus drivers’ natural driving data. Four preliminary planning routes were observed for the field test. The driver behavior testing system was used to collect 150 highway bus drivers’ first natural driving data.
In this research, eco-safe-driving training performance is evaluated by comparing before and after highway bus drivers’ natural driving data. Based on the result of this research, research methods can be applied to other bus companies to achieve the promotion of eco-safe driving. |
