| Summary | This project is one of the series studies of Institute of Transportation, Ministry of Transportation and Communication on, titled as “The strategy for transportation system development in Taiwan western area (northern region)”. Study area covers the area of Taiwan western area northern region Yilan county, Keelung City, Taipei County and City, Taoyuan County, Hsinchu County and City, Kinmen county, Lienchiang county, and the offshort islands Kinmen and Lienchiang County. It is the main area of industry located, interacted with mainland China, and people lived in our country.
Under the circumstances of highly international competition, great disasters caused by weather change, improved interrelationship with mainland China and higher living condition people requested, the vision of transportation system development for Taiwan western area northern region is set as “A transportation system may support production efficiency, may achieve ecological sustainability, and may create a superior living condition for people”. In this vision, this project conducts the planning of development strategy and formulates action plans for transportation system of this region. |
